Defying gravity, the vertical ascent up a city tower has literally taken the world by storm. Originating in the late 70s, the sport of ‘Vertical Marathons’ (also called ‘Tower Running’) has now spread to every continent, with the Bahrain’s capital set to join the list of world’s iconic towers.

This one of-its-kind event in the GCC region will take place on Friday, 6 April 2018. Entrants will start at the base of the tower and make their way up to the finish line located on the 50st floor.

The challenging route consists of a total of 1050 steps as runners will have to make their way up to the top of the 200m tower.

The event is open to people of all abilities who have undergone an intensive training prior to the race.

Today, the sport has become popular on all continents, and towers are taking place in 40 countries.

A number of athletes are traveling around the world to climb the most famous towers. After the formation of the World Association of Tower Escalators, many cities will see a series of world vertical races Beginning of 2018.

Friday, 6 April 2018, participants are expected to invade the stairs at various stages to reach the finish line.

The event will be held for the first time and will be of special importance as the location of the event as one of the most prominent landmarks in the kingdom of Bahrain.

We are excited to organize the first version of the tower race, it's time for a building in Bahrain to take its place among other world-class landmarks to host such a kind as many other important racing venues around the world will host annual races such as the Empire State Building Race In New York »and the Berlin sky race in Germany.
